Morjina Begum, mother of The Daily Star’s senior reporter and Bangladesh Sports Journalist Association general secretary Anisur Rahman Poltu, passed away yesterday at her own residence in the Old Kashba area of Jashore city. She was 79.
Her Namaz-e-Janaza was held after Jumma prayers. She was buried at the Jashore Karbala Graveyard. She is survived by three sons and as many daughters and countless well-wishers.
Bangladesh Football Federation and BSJA expressed their condolences at her passing.
